There are 3 ways you can purchase your new Brompton.

For most buying a Brompton is a considered purchase, a bike that fulfils a need but as it’s something special it should also be an enjoyable experience. You need to select the right options for your personal preferences and crucially ensure that you have the initial and ongoing professional support from a friendly knowledgeable dealer.

The experience and support will vary depending on whether you purchase through an established Brompton dealer or from Brompton themselves directly online from their website. Obviously you can purchase online from our own website for delivery directly to your home within the UK, but for this article lets take a look at the 3 options listed below.

1. In store or online using our own Click and Collect directly from Avon Valley Cyclery

2. Online via www.brompton.com using the special checkout code (full details below) and choosing delivery to Avon Valley Cyclery

3. Direct from www.brompton.com with a Home Delivery

To get us started, he’s a quick graphical overview of the benifits and drawbacks of the 3 options;

3 ways to buy a Brompton options table
  1. Buy your bike in store from Avon Valley Cyclery

We can spend time with you, go through all the options with the opportunity to test ride the bikes and provide the full experience to assist you in finding your perfect Brompton.  We always keep a variety of models and colours in stock but with the diversity of options Brompton offer it’s unlikely we’ll have all variables available 100% of the time.

If in the circumstance we don’t have the perfect bike for you in stock but Brompton have the bike available on their own website we can order this for you, with delivery to the shop where it will receive a full pre delivery service prior to collection as well as the opportunity to bring it back after 4 weeks for a free follow up service to check everything is running smoothly once you have a few miles under your belt.

In addition, obviously you’re welcome to drop in anytime for hint’s, tips and advice on how to get the most from your new bike and in the unlikely scenario that you have any teething troubles or warranty issues with your new Brompton, as an Avon Valley Cyclery customer you’ll be prioritised to get you back on the road in a jiffy.

  1. Buy direct from www.brompton.com and have it delivered to Avon Valley Cyclery.

This provides you with all the benefits listed above as if you’d purchased your Brompton in person in the shop but provides you with a little more thinking time should you need it and the comfort of ordering from your own home.

All you need to do is pop the sales code into the shopping cart during the check-out process and select Avon Valley Cyclery as the delivery destination.

Code in Brompton checkout

USE THIS CODE : EHCC-A000027-GH98

The only change you’ll see within the checkout webpage is the bike being discounted by 1p but this indicates that the code has been accepted to confirm Brompton will provide us with a commission that allows us to roll out all the benefits above as if you’d bought the bike in store.

  1. Buy direct from Brompton and have the bike delivered to your own home.

Unfortunately, you’ll lose the first-hand preferential customer and dealer after sales support with this option.

This allows Brompton to make the sale both as the manufacturer and as a retailer, so retaining 100% of their own profit margin as well as that of the independent Brompton dealer by cutting the dealer out of the equation altogether.

This is becoming something of a problem for Brompton’s dealers as we all rely on the income from the bikes to maintain the high standard of service to which we hold ourselves, both in terms of pre-sales service provided for free as well as the after-sales support we can provide.

With a bike delivered direct to your home you’ll need to fit some components yourself (saddle & accessories), the bike won’t have received the Pre Delivery Inspection Service by a professional mechanic straight out the box and you’ll lose the free 4 week follow up service that we offer to all our in-store customers.

In addition, you’ll be missing out on the personal handover experience that makes the purchase of a new Brompton special.

Please also note, should you have any warranty or technical issues with your new bike the support procedure is different as we’re unable to prioritise third party/Brompton direct supplied bikes in the same way as we do our own customer bikes.
