We love these retro styled panniers from Clarijs. Hand made in the Netherlands by a traditional sail maker in a variety of funky colours (and black) to perfectly match your taste and lifestyle.
These panniers are something a bit different, a cut above the common mass produced black panniers that do nothing to brighten your day with some key features that differentiate them from the crowd. We particuarly like the variety of colours that give these bags real personality, as well as the opportunity to mix and match them with the additional 'shopping' bag inserts that will fit perfectly down inside the pannier. The idea behind the Shopping bags (you can match them to your pannier, or go for a different design altogether!) is to allow you to leave the bulkier panniers fitted to the bike (they can be secured by means of a metal hoop stitched into the pannier to foil would be theives) while you take only the more compact bag to carry your shopping. When you get back to the bike open the pannier flap, drop in your Clarijs shopping bag making perfect use of the space and off you go. At the other end of your journey you can simply pull out the shopping bag and take it into your home without ever the need to be decanting shopping from one bag to another as you would be with a traditional cycle pannier.

The History of Clarijs
Sailmaker Clarijs is a traditional family business.
It was founded by the brothers Clarijs when in 1948 they started as a saddlery.
When less work was available in the leatherworking branch, the type of work changed.
Gradually the company started to focus more on processing sail canvas and related
products. The company evolved and has passed on to the sons and grandchildren
and has grown into production work of (cycle) bags and bakfiets covers in the
more recent years.
Clarijs products are being sold in more then 12 countries now
including of course in the United Kingdom.
All thier products are manufactured in The Netherlands and all the materials we use are
produced in the EU.
